Our cables are also more flexible than oem cables and feature the fit and finish that you have come to expect from K-Tuned products.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e K-Tuned Race-Spec-Shifter Cables are made almost entirely of stainless steel, including the very important inner cable and all of the exposed cable guides. The outer cable is constructed with a low friction Teflon coated inner liner and polyethylene outer covering. Even the cable mounting ends are made from stainless steel and were designed with a threaded section to eliminate the need for the oem cable clips. However, take note that the oem clips can still be used if desired. Last are the rod end connections, these are fully adjustable and made from 6061 billet aluminum at all four ends. We made one minor adjustment at the gear selector, here we are still using a billet rod end, but we added a spherical Delrin insert to allow proper movement at this joint. Allowing this movement helps reduce possible cable bind during shifting. There is even a bonus, because we have also included our Billet Cable Bracket to make this a complete package. It can be used with all OEM and aftermarket 02-04 RSX shifter cables. 05-06 RSX shifter cables will work with but with slight modification. Construction is 90% billet aluminum with mix of stainless steel, brass and delrin. All materials used were chosen to create a strong and reliable shifter with outstanding feel. The shifter has three pivot points that were made for long term wear. However, the shifter can be rebuilt easily with replacement bushings. There are 2 settings for the front to back throw that are easily made at the top section of the shifter. A progressive rate neutral return spring is used just like the ones that are used in the OEM design. To install the shifter on a manual transmission chassis use the OEM rear shifter holes and simply drill 2 more holes up front, thats it. The aluminum mechanism for the shifter will then bolt in place up top and the arms will pass down through the factory shifter hole. The bottom section where the cables are connected is fully sealed and 100% leak-free unlike some other designs where water and exhaust gases can actually get inside the shifter and the cabin. Our No-Cut Shifter was on the design table here at K-Tuned for almost 5 years. Despite making a handful of prototypes, most of them never met our high expectations. This part was challenging to make due to space constraints. Trying to fit a handful of moving parts in the confined space under the Honda center console without cutting anything was the first hurdle. The second and most important to us, was still keeping all those moving parts strong and reliable enough to avoid failures. Essentially this feature allows the user to widen the spacing between 1st, 3rd and 5th gear. Note that 2nd, 4th, 6th and reverse gears will also be spread apart when adjusted. We have also developed a proper short shifter option that won’t damage or break the cable guides. This is accomplished by making the shifter cable mounting point adjustable to correct the angle at the cable connection. The shift lever and shifter ball are made from solid stainless steel and seated in a spring loaded brass socket. This combination of stainless and brass allows the two materials to lap together while the springs push up and eliminate “play” at the ball. The lever is fully adjustable in height and offset rotation. Height can be adjusted up to 2” taller or shorter than stock and there is an amazing 90 different offset positions.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e The Billet RSX Shifter has two different sets of mounting holes on the base so it can be easily bolted into several applications.
